Hi 👋🏾 I’m Teysia! I’m a seasoned visual and brand designer based in Los Angeles, CA. I have over 10 years of experience across an array of industries, from education to adult beverages, and so much in between. Currently, I'm on the lookout for new opportunities as a visual designer, brand designer, or art director. With my diverse experience, adaptable mindset, and can-do attitude, I'm ready to take on new creative challenges.

Professionally…
A little-known fact: I actually began my college studies as a double major in computer science and math. Despite my family encouraging me to take this path, I quickly found that I had no real, long-term passion for these two subjects, so I returned to the safe haven of my creative mind. Drawing portraits of close friends, pets, and still-life environments around me allowed me to get back in touch with my Right Brain – the side that my younger self had always favored, but that had since been neglected in favor of equations and code. One day, a friend was flipping through my sketchbooks and suggested I switch to the graphic design program…and here we are. This was truly a lesson in following your passions. When you know, you know.

Over the last decade, I have focused my attention on designing web and mobile UIs, brand campaigns/extensions, social media, and reporting. I have designed across an array of industries, including education, community outreach, tech, hospitality, and food and beverage. I have worked in agency, studio, and freelance environments – remotely and in person, across multiple time zones and continents. By day, I’ve had the opportunity to provide brand support to prominent names such as Microsoft, Deloitte, SVEDKA Vodka, and InterContinental Hotels Group, among others. By night, I have had the pleasure of partnering with school districts, community-based organizations, and small businesses. Through these partnerships, I have supported and collaborated with educators and advocates to help elevate and amplify the voices of BIPOC students and their families by way of accessible, impactful design.
I’ve been busy collaborating with
some pretty great clients and brands...
personally…
I’m a creative, an explorer, an athlete, a foodie, and a dog enthusiast. Native to the United States, I’ve been fortunate to live and work domestically and internationally, finding inspiration in new surroundings, and building friendships and meaningful connections in various communities. I find great fulfillment in traveling to experience new places, new cultures, and new flavors. Since 2015, I’ve been to 26 countries. People often ask if I have a favorite destination. Right now, it’s a toss-up between Bali, Mexico City, and Malta…but I just got a fresh, new passport, so ask me in another few years.

In the past handful of years, I’ve developed an affinity for health and fitness. Following a regimented powerbuilding (powerlifting + bodybuilding) program has allowed me to push my body in ways I never imagined. At the end of my last program, my final maxes for deadlift, squat, and military press were 410lbs, 260lbs, and 105lbs, respectively. My philosophy when it comes to lifting: the limit does not exist.

Aside from travel, design, and fitness, my world revolves around my rescue pup, Aurora. She’s a petite, 16-year-old Jack-a-Bea (Jack Russel Terrier + Beagle) packed with a massive personality. In 2015, Aurora joined me and some friends on a cross-country trip from Rochester, NY to Seattle, WA. Over the course of our 6-week journey, she explored numerous national parks, beaches, mountains, and trails, earning her the nickname "Aurora the Explora." Even more impressive: Aurora has her own passport! In 2019, she accompanied me overseas to the UK where we lived for nine months just on the edge of the picturesque Cotswolds. These days, you can find us sunbathing in southern California.
